We were up early again the next day for California Adventure. We had a plan. We had talked to “people” before our trip and knew that if we wanted to go on the “Cars” ride that we had to go there first. Our plan was to get a fast pass for Cars and then go on the ride first thing so that we could go twice. It seems like that was everyone else’s plan too! When we go there, the park wasn’t open yet, but there were a ton of people just waiting to get down the street that leads to the Cars ride. We thought we would take some pictures to pass the time so we wandered down a different street that had almost no one. Down the road a bit was a trolley with Chip and Dale waving at the few passers by. We thought we would try to see if they would sign the girls hats. As we walked toward them, a park worker stopped us and asked us if we planned to go on the Holleywood Tower Hotel ride. Of course we did. She then said, “We are looking for someone to be our first family today. You will get to ride the trolley with Chip and Dale and then go on the ride first and be all by yourselves. Do you want to do that?”
Um, YES!!!
So that’s what we did. We gave up on our plan and went with something better. It was awesome. The whole thing….except for the part that Miranda and Dreyken were not prepared to go on the scariest ride of the park very first. We had to coax them on (read drag!) through tears, and honestly, I didn’t think we would get them on. BUT, they did it. Miranda ended up LOVING the ride. Dreyken did not, but she was a trouper for trying it. Here are pictures from that “Magic Moment” adventure.
They gave us the picture for free, including a digital copy. SO COOL!! Thank you Disney!
Then, that day for lunch, we had a plan to surprise Miranda and Dreyken with a princess lunch at Ariel’s Grotto. We dressed them like princesses for the day. They were so excited when they found out they would get to meet some princesses!!
First they were met by Princess Ariel herself.
Then they brought us our three course lunch, throughout the lunch, different princesses visited our table. We were in the perfect spot. They presented each princess, they each went to one table to our right and then they came to us. Each one took time to visit with each table. It was so fun to watch the girls meet them!
Then Princess Aurora (AKA Sleeping Beauty) arrived.
And finally Cinderella came. The girls were most enchanted by her, I think. So fun!
We then enjoyed some dessert …YUM!
Then headed on back out to the park. Such a fun memory for moms and girls!!
It was also awesome to have mom and dad there. While we were meeting princesses they were with the big kids going on big roller coasters that the girls couldn’t go on and getting lunch too. Thanks again mom and dad…
The entire vacation was even more spectacular because you were there.
We spent the rest of the day going on rides. We also watched a great show, Aladdin. They pretty much put on a play of the entire show for us. It was really awesome and the Genie was hilarious! We lucked out for that performance as well. We were getting in line and asking where the nearest bathroom was and how to get back in line after we went, when the lady just said, “Here, go see that guy and you guys can go in that line.” It ended up being the line that let us in first and we sat on the second row for the show. We were so lucky that day!!
Here are a few random pictures from our day at California Adventure.
It was a great day.
