This little girl has discovered a new passion. She has learned about swings. There is no stopping her now. I love the little joys that you find in life when seeing them again for the first time through the eyes of your children. This world is glorious. Where would we be without swings?!!

Kanyon is 11 years old!!
Kanyon turned 11! How crazy is that! He had what I would lovingly call a “Scout” birthday. Now that he is 11, he needed a whole bunch of camping and scouting stuff. Good thing that all of it is right up his alley and he was thrilled.
Scout hat, scout book, new hiking shoes and a sleeping bag were the highlights. He can hardly wait to go camping and try out all his stuff.
In fact, the other day I smelled some smoke in our house. We have a constant fire in the fireplace, so fire smell is not all that unusual; however, I hadn’t opened the fire for awhile so it was a bit curious. I asked, “Do you guys smell smoke?”
I then heard a small voice from upstairs say….”Uh I was just trying my new flint and steel to see if it worked.” Uh Buddy, we live in a LOG HOUSE!! Why don’t you try that OUTSIDE!!! OKAY!!!! Just incase anyone was confused, Flint and Steel are not okay to experiment with inside my house… or anyone’s for that matter
I love this kid. He makes me smile and can get me to laugh. He is adorable and his blue eyes kill me. He is thankful and kind and tries really hard to chose the right. He makes friends easily and doesn’t hold a grudge. He LOVES to read and knows the craziest facts about random things. He loves rocks and science. He wants to be a Geologist someday. He loves his dad and wants to grow up to be just like him. Keep striving for that, buddy, your dad is one of the best men out there.
The pleasure is mine, Kanyon, to watch you grow. Thank you for choosing me to be your mom and letting me share in your journey. I love you.
